Cemetery Mystery: Who Were the Alvarezes?
Tucked away in historic City Loosley Cemetery lies a
polished mystery, three elegant, dark granite markers resting atop a concrete
slab with 12-inch curbing. The names etched into stone:
Guadalupe Alvarez
George Alvarez
Carmen Alvarez
We assume they were family… but we don’t know for sure.
There's no record of their passing in our archives. No newspaper mentions. No
death certificates. Just the quiet presence of their names beneath the Arizona
sun.
Who were they? When did they live? Why are their graves so
carefully marked, yet their stories lost?
If you recognize these names, or have a family connection,
we would love to hear from you.
Help us uncover
the story behind the Alvarezes of Loosley Cemetery.
